Title: Q2 Write about an occasion when you went for a special meal.
It happened one year ago. My father got promoted and he decided to treat our relatives to a special meal. That day was also my father’s birthday. What a coincidence! So my father had invited my grandfather, his sister, brother-in-law, brother, sister-in-law, nephews who were my cousins.
On that day, we decided to meet up at the ‘Mouth Food Restaurant’. Everyone was punctual. My cousin, Peter, Mark and Shawn started playing with my aunt’s (father’s sister) and uncle’s newly born offspring. Peter, Mark and Shawn were my father’s brother’s sons. Peter was actually being adopted while Mark and Shawn were his kin’s sons.
Later, a waiter at the counter ushered us to our seats. My father was delighted and had ordered “loads of food”. The waiter took down all the orders and after about forty- five minutes the dishes were up on the large round table. The dishes included the “Fried Cereal Prawn”, “herb chicken”, “Buddha jump over the wall”, “kang kong” and “XO Steam Fish”. The food looked so “opulent”, that they enticed all of us. They were absolutely mouth-watering.
Unable to wait anymore, all of our chopsticks were like “houseflies hovering” trying to grab the irresistible dishes. One of my favourite dishes was the herb chicken”. Its spices were piquant and the chicken was extremely juicy and tender! Soon everyone got on to many different topics to chit-chat while eating. I could see the satisfied smiles on all the faces.
Next I went on to my second favourite food, the “Fried Cereal Prawn”. Oh My God! The whole prawn was, very crispy and crunchy. The prawns had a smack of butter and cereal.
Suddenly, there was a yell from my father. We all got a shock from this yell. My father had spilled his red wine on to his shirt and pants. My cousins and I started to snigger and my father was embarrassed and he quickly got washed up and came back.
I had tried all the other dishes and they were absolutely tasty. Everyone was grinning from ear to ear after this sumptuous meal. All of us were extremely delighted. When we were about to leave, my father was so elated that he overlooked about the bills. All of us had a good laugh.
After this, everybody thanked to my father and went our separate ways. This was the most special meal that I would never forget.
